Any artificial reservoirs are structures designed to contain water and especially require maximum protection from all kinds of leaks. It's worth noting that for this type of structure, protection is necessary on both sides. Internal waterproofing prevents water from leaking out, keeping the reservoir full, while external waterproofing prevents groundwater, dirt, and other nasty things from getting in. External waterproofing is especially important for in-ground and semi-in-ground fountains and pools, where any rain can turn the clearest water into a disgustingly dirty liquid.
Polyurea – The best solution
To protect water-filled structures from any unexpected leaks, it's essential to select high-quality waterproofing with increased strength and impermeability. However, not every waterproofing material can withstand the conditions sometimes encountered in artificial ponds or fountains. Outdoor structures are exposed to all the adverse factors that can arise outdoors: ultraviolet radiation, mechanical damage, chemical and biological attacks, which destroy most materials of this type.
